All about Microblading

Makeup its more than just a hobby, wear it like confidence!

What you need to know

  • 1.) How long does it take to do?

Investing about two hours of your time is beautifully life changing. The procedure takes two sessions that are 4-6 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to be complete. The first procedure will take about 90 minutes and your second appointment will take about 60 minutes.

2.)Does Microblading procedure hurt?

I do every precaution necessary to ensure the micropigmentation application is as  comfortable as possible. This does vary depending on patient’s pain tolerance. A wide range of medical grade anesthetics are used for your comfort. A combination of two anesthetics are used, first a topical

numbing cream and then a local anesthetic is given once microblading procedure has started. This is topped up regularly during the procedure.

3.) How long is recovery or healing time?

You do not have to hide from the world until you are healed. Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in color, your brows will soften 40-60% to a natural looking and beautiful color by second.

4.) How do you choose a shape?

I will choose a shape and style that I see fits your face. In the beginning of the microblading session I will draw in a suggested shape for your new brows and then we can work together to perfect this into your preference. Measurements are taken to check  symmetry and position.

5.) What will they look like after procedure?

Your brows may look a little swollen, red and sometimes a bit white. This is all very normal. They will darker the first few days, before they begin to fade out to a softer color.

6.) Will they fade with in the year?

Your body’s skin changes over time and so will any permanent makeup coloration implanted into the skins layers. However, this natural fading takes years and touch ups are easily done every year to make sure your brows stay crisp and fresh.

7.) Can I have my brows microbladed if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

No, you cannot have this treatment done due to the anesthetic medication we use for numbing the brows as we go along it does go into your blood stream and can affect the baby. If you are breastfeeding I do recommend  you use the “pump and dump” method for 48-72 hours afterward microblading procedure is performed. I also suggest pumping and storing your milk a head of time. I am not a doctor so if you would like to speak with a health care professional before making your appointment  please feel free to do so.

Lastly, just so you know….

The best part of this technique is there is no down time. Your new set of brows will be ready immediately after the process. The healing process is different and varies on everyone. I will see you back in 4-6 weeks for your free touch up, you will need to prepare. If your drink a lot, take a lot of aspirin, or use retinol, stop one week before your treatment. If anything is prescribed by a doctor please bring a doctor’s note. Retinol makes your skin thin and you bleed a little more. Avoid any blood thinners, aspirin and alcohol. Microblading is in the tattoo family unlike a regular tattoo, microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted underneath the skin with a manual handheld special tool, not a machine. I will be making hair like strokes that mimic natural looking hairs in your brows.
